The FMD's Lapland Rehabilitation Centre is an all-round centre for rehabilitation with experts and services that complement the public sector. Its work is based on multi-professional groups and networks, the culture of the Nordic people, familiarity with problems and rehabilitation needs and on co-operation with the Central Hospital of Lapland.

The Rehabilitation Centre serves as a department of medical and professional rehabilitation. Medical rehabilitation takes the form of both tailored periods of institutionalised rehabilitation and courses for groups. All therapies are also produced as out-patient services.

The vocational examinations include investigations into the need for rehabilitation and rehabilitation/work assessment clinic examinations. Vocational rehabilitation has increased with respect in particular to training to maintain and improve capacity for work.

A new feature are the rehabilitation periods and examinations for the long-term unemployed funded by the European Social Fund and the Social Insurance Institution.
