The Chair of the association is Pekka Tuominen. Managing Director is Marja Pihnala and Financial Director Juha Kotikangas.
The highest power of decision in FPD is held by the General Council, which has 57 members. The General Council is elected every four years. The election is conducted by postal vote.
The General Council elects the General Board of FPD, comprising the Chair, two Vice-chairs and ten members.
Member Organizations and regional work
FPD has 156 member associations and 33 000 individual members. Activities of the association are divided into 8 Finnish-speaking areas and 2 Swedish-speaking ares. A management team in each area is in charge of the activities in the area.
FPD has several operational units all around the country: rehabilitation centres in Helsinki, Lahti and Rovaniemi and a Vocational Training Centre in Järvenpää. Validia Services, owned by FPD, offers housing services in many regions.
Two companies work under FPD: Validia Services and Invatieto, a company marketing products supporting FPD such as Christmas cards for enterprises and printed publications.
